Contests!

Pheelya is going to be a "Zia" (aunt in Italian) again and wants to know what to knit for for the baby that is due in November. Post a comment with your idea and tell her I sent you!

Then go over to the Cloverhill Yarn Shop Countdown to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and leave a comment to be elegible to win a hand dyed skein of yarn.

And a ton more contests here.

Sunset on Frenchman's Bay

aMy entry for the "Place that brings you peace and joy" on Zeeneedle's blog. Janet is also having a contest - go over to A Work in Progress and guess when her snow will be gone (she lives in Alaska by the way). Vicki is having a contest too although I think she's the one who should get a prize for weaving in all of those ends - enter the contest on Purple is a Fruit.

I Love Alpacas

I think I want to raise alpacas when I grow up! They are such sweet, gentle, animals. And...their fleece is the softest and warmest ever. Alpaca farms seem to be sprouting up all over Maine. I visited this one today and met the sweetest alpaca! My friend Vicki on Purple is a Fruit raises alpacas and spins their wool. Alpaca people just seem to be the nicest people, and they love their alpacas like their own children!

Mandy over on NH Knitting Mama is having a little contest She has a free pattern for her "Mandy's Candy Bag" which is really cute. Go on over and check it out. I plan to make a few of these! And you know what else? She's a Red Sox Fan!!!!! Gotta love her.
Progress on my DDs yellow tomato from Knitting Daily:

And my Patchwork bag from "Easy Knitted Accessories" - pre-felted it's 13"x20". I still have to make the handles, which are braided.

Tonight I am casting on for the Comfortable Felted Sling Purse from Knitty Chick, also for my DD.
I'm using these colors, and probably I'll add a little purple too. This is the same bag I made for my pal in the ITEIV Swap except that I made it in a solid color with needlfelted flowers. My DD loved it, but wanted it done in stripes.

My Lucky Day (yours too?)

I just found out I won the prize for the "Life's Importance" Necklace that I made for my KTC Joy Luck Club project.
Four skeins of this lovely cotton blend yarn and a mahjong bracelet!
Today, I also received the autographed copy of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's Cast Off that I won on the Unknitted Blog. Thanks again so much girls!
Patty received the package I sent for the Whoduknit Spring Swap. I had posted a little contest on my blog to guess what I made from the yarn she sent me. Unfortunately no one guessed - that was a pretty safe bet! Here is what is was:
Glass cozies! Patty lives in Florida and has an 'oasis' in her back yarn - a cozy place where she goes to read. So I sent some things for her to enjoy in her oasis. I had fun knitting the glass cozies - each one was a different pattern. Even though no one guessed correctly- I do appreciate those of you who took the time to try - so I did a random drawing - and Vicki (Dandy)'s name came out! A cool windsock will be on it's way to you Vicki.
I love contests!!!
