Why Didn't I Think of That?

Judith, over on Holiday Mystery Gift-Along (where they are not doing a Knit your own Shawl Adventure) came up with this idea of using a teapot as a yarn holder. I have a collection of teapots, which I rarely use for tea, and I think this is just the neatest idea! Put the yarn in the teapot - thread it through the spout - don't you just love it!

I did remember to wear my neck warmer and head band for recess duty yesterday, but the playground was a sheet of ice and it wasn't safe for the kids to got out (not to mention the teachers!) so I war my neckwarmer indoors all day yesterday.
Being cooped up inside all day with 20 7 and 8 year-olds full of energy is not a lot of fun! But we did manage to get a couple laps around the gym when it wasn't being used for a class.
Today I am reading (The Knitting Circle) and knitting (felted mittens)
and trying to keep warm. There must be some reason why I live in Maine, but I can't think of it right now!

It really is a cool idea! But...don't make any mistakes...cause then you have to break the yarn and mend...ARGH! I hate the mending (is that the corect word?)

You live in Maine, because you don't live on the Canadian praries!! See we woulda been sent outside anyway.
The teapot is cool... but don't yank too hard if you hit a snag in the ball... or you won't have the teapot anymore, which is soo what I can see happening to me!

really cute idea! great way to use teapots, especially during the summer! love the felted slippers a few posts back. the colors are great! trade you some cold and wet for some t-shirt and jeans weather which we have here in the s.f. bay area! take care and stay warm.

that is a great idea. cheaper than the yarn bowl (which I love though) than I bought from the knit witch, especially if it's already in your kitchen!
