Cabin Fever

I haven't been blogging much lately - Cabin Fever has set in big time! It's time for spring but mother nature doesn't know it here in Maine. Temps are still in the 30's and although the ground is pretty much bare - these huge white flakes come down everyone day or so. The kids at school are feeling it too. It's time to be out riding bikes, fishing, playing baseball - and it's freezing! Even my knitting is in a slump! I did finish a felted bag that a friend asked me to make for her - but she wanted black and grey stripes - and knitting it just added to the doldrums. I need something much more colorful to bring me out of my knitting slump! Got any suggestions?

Hey, it is like that in Montana also! I will use Too Teal Paton's Classic Wool for my Must Have Cardigan...that should be a good color to keep me awake...may I suggest some of the same for a bag?

It snowed here last night also!
hmm.... color knitting... how about a needle roll or a mesh shopping bag? (both patterns are on ravelry and in my Q).

Good luck finding something springy/summery/ full of color.

Why not do a second felted bag in some bright Noro?

how about felted potholders? they are quick, can be knit from yarn leftovers or stash and, if knit with two strands, can be any color combo that catches your fancy, like spring colors! good luck and have fun getting out of the slump!

The gray will soon be gone. We are sending sun your way!

I hear you. It isn't much better in Michigan, althought this coming week is looking pretty good so far. We might be in the 50's all week.

We have finally seen some 60 degree temps and sunshine here in NE Ohio--and believe me it has made a big diffence. Something that helps me is to take the time at night and write 3 things I am grateful for today. Gray skies and winter do suck big time. Sending you sunshine and warmth

I'm suffering with you with the cabin fever, it's been nice here some, but for the past 4 days now, it's been gray and rainy, to top it off, I now officially have a spring cold, and I feel yucky physically as well as emotionally with the weather doldrums.

I hope it warms up soon for you and spring will burst forth in splendid colors, so in the mean time, ditch that black and gray yarn and knit you some bright cheerful colors into a cheerful pattern! I vowed to ditch my dark green I was working on and switch to something more cheerful just the other day and it makes working on it much more pleasant, though now I have that dark green pair of socks to finish in my work basket... calling my name and chanting "finish me.." back, back, down, get under that pretty pink yarn, so I don't have to see you, there, now I can work in peace and feel a bit cheery, hope you do too!
