A Little Contest

When I was in A.C.Moore on Saturday looking for beads for my ITEIII bag (see below)
I saw these cute little charms and thought they would make great stitch markers (always have knitting on my mind!). They already had a jump ring attached, so I bought some toggle clasps popped the charms on the ring part of them voila! stitch markers in two sizes, plus the jump ring on the charm itself fits on size 1-3 needles. So, my questions is - what to do with all of the other halves of the toggle clasp? Got any ideas? Post them in the comments, and I'll send a set of stitch markers to the person whose idea is the best!

I would attach a clip big enough to be able to hold a couple of the rings from the stitch markers. then you could join the sets together when not in use. by a clip I mean like a necklace piece. where it is oval and the piece pushes into the oval clasp. do you know what I mean?

I'd string them together with beads in the middle on a cord with extra slack. Then you could use it as a stitch counter, move one across the cord for each count. :)

Or a kids set of jacks?

I would save them to attach back to zippers as pulls

Well, they look like they'd hurt to step on with bare feet, so after everyone went to bed I'd put some on the kitchen floor in front of the refrigerator to deter myself from sneaking in for late-night snacking.
OK, maybe not the best idea.

I think they would work for clothing closures, can't remember the name of what it is called but my mom use to wear a sweater and had a fancy beaded like clip that clipped on each side of sweater so that when you didn't have your arms in the sleeves it would stay on your shoulders..hope someone remembers what those things are called, I thought of that right off with some pretty beads on wires. Or you could make small beaded drapes for necklaces /jewelery crocheting around the ends kinda choker style.
Hope this makes sense..lol

Those are so cute!

I'm not coming up with any original ideas, though. They do look like jacks. hehe

I've been using the ring parts for markers (saw it on some web page) and have a bunch of toggles. My ideas include:

Collecting a bunch in a jar and have a couple of contests to go with it:

a) What am I/what am I used for?
b) If you have lots, how many are in the jar (similar to how many needles are in the jar/skeins in the bag/stitches on the needle)

Use them for when you are counting the number of days in the school year (my DH's school does that all the time).

String them all together for a bracelet?

Use them for closures on purses, cell phone bags, ipod cases, different looking buttons for sweaters, ect., a closure for just about anything that you need a closure for.

Would that be a fob you are talking about, vegasangelbrat?

My non-original use is for a closure. And more originally, why not use them to keep two layers of things apart?
